What TO DO in Small Leagues
1
Pick high-floor players. Choose batsmen with a 40+ average and bowlers who bowl in powerplay and death — they always score something.
2
Captain the highest-probability scorer. In H2H, you need the 2x multiplier to actually hit — don't gamble on a differential.
3
Include 2–3 all-rounders. They score in both bat and ball — more touch-points for fantasy points than pure specialists.
4
Balance team from both sides. Pick 5-6 from the stronger team, 4-5 from the weaker team to cover match scenarios.
5
Wait for toss, finalize team. In small leagues, even a 5-point difference can change a result — adapt your XI after the toss decision.
What NOT TO DO in Small Leagues
1
Don't go full differential captains. In H2H with 1-2 opponents, captaining a 15% ownership player is a gamble you don't need to take.
2
Avoid injury-risk players. Any player with a fitness concern should be replaced — a DNP gives you 0 points and you can't recover.
3
Don't pick specialist batsmen at No. 7+. Batting position matters — a top-order batsman gets 25-30 more balls on average than a finisher.
4
Avoid 5-bowler setups. Unless the pitch is a bowling paradise, 4 bowlers is enough — use the 11th spot on a high-form batsman instead.
5
Don't ignore economy rate. Bowlers who concede 12+ per over often lose points via negatives — pick wicket-takers with reasonable economy.
